If a young person wants to go to University or College, what support should they get?

Local authorities have powers to provide support under section 30 of the Children (Scotland) Act. This may include help with costs for accommodation near your place of study, including during vacation periods. Help can also be given to cover costs of any special equipment. A charity called the Buttle Trust can also offer help and advice to care leavers at university.
