You may or may not know but National Care Leavers' Week is upon us (26th - 30th October). Here at the Scottish Throughcare and Aftercare Forum and Debate Project we have joined forces with the Care Leavers' Association (CLA), Who Cares? Scotland and SIRCC to highlight the work that we have all been doing this last year (in particular) to challenge the discrimination and stigma young and older care leavers face from the public and the media.
Join us in celebrating National Care Leavers' Week 26th - 30th October and raise awareness of the stigma and discrimination that care leavers face.
We invite your ideas of how we can highlight the work that is being done across Scotland to celebrate together National Care Leavers week 2010. We are planning a number of group meetings throughout next year to make next National Care Leavers' Week a BIG SUCCESS.
We are interested in your ideas; inspiration and innovation which will help us do this.
What are you going to be doing in your local area?
How are you celebrating this week with the care leavers you work with?
If you are a care leaver, what types of events etc. would you want to see from National Care Leavers' Week?
Please email your thoughts and ideas to our partner in this piece of work Zachari Duncalf. You can contact her on zachari.duncalf@strath.ac.uk
